In 2014-2015 the European Diploma for Medieval Studies (Diplôme européen d’études médiévales // Mediaevalium Studiorum Diploma Europense) takes place at the Istituto S. Tommaso d’Aquino (Pontificia Università San Tommaso d’Aquino), Largo Angelicum, 1 / 00184 Rome.

The Diploma is organized by a web of universities with ERASMUS mobility agreements with LUMSA (Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta), in Rome. The Diploma is coordinated by Professor Giacinta Spinosa (Università di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale, Italia) (email: deem@fidemweb.org).

The courses are taught in Italian, with English and French used as supporting languages.

Outside their commitments in the courses, the students can pursue their own research interests in the numerous libraries and archives in Rome.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_divider admin_label=”Divider” color=”#d9d9d9″ show_divider=”on” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Schedule title” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”center”]

This Essay / Project (about 6,000 words) which needs to result in a publishable piece of work, will be supervised by a professor at the student’s home university in collaboration with a professor who has taught the FIDEM course in Rome. The final project will be evaluated by a committee of at least two experts in the field chosen by the student.
